Furaha - for Percussion Duet (2015)

Furaha means joy, fun in Swahili. The piece is a duet for Marimba and hand percussion and takes these instruments back to their original African and Central American roots while maintaining them in a traditional sense. Through dance-like rhythms, quirky harmonies, and playful melodies, Furaha will make listeners bob their heads and smile all at the same time. It even involves audience participation.
